Snow Day Slow Day

I’m getting ready to run the Go! St. Louis Half-Marathon in April, and so far the training as been pretty consistent. With the oodles of snow we’ve been getting, it’s hard to get long runs in. Fortunately, it’s still early in the training, so four or five miles on the treadmill isn’t the end of the world.

Today I went for six. Good night, you would have thought I was running in sand! I feel like I’ve had a pretty restful weekend, but I’ve been working a bit and spending several hours on homework. And after giving blood on Friday, I’ve been a bit sluggish. I barely eked out three miles before calling it quits and switching to the elliptical to finish up. Not an ideal six-mile “run,” but better than quitting. Reading about my fav Biggest Loser contestant Rebecca Meyer in People helped passed the time. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed and praying to the snow gods that the weather starts improving! I’ve put in 7 and 8 miles on a treadmill, and that’s something I hope I NEVER have to do again.
